Happy Valentine’s Day!!

Filed under: Uncategorized, events — Kate @ 9:58 pm

okay, so i’m two days early, but today was our valentine’s day party at school.

so last nite i made the cutest valentines EVER thanks to zakka life.

Snail!!

when i saw these i knew i had to make them. ever since we had “snail”  living on the side of our house i have

been obsessed with these little guys. these were perfect!

SNAIL!!!

in news totally unrelated to valentines day the funniest thing happened to me today. i was walking to my car after work and this guy stops me nad asks where the dry cleaners is. he looks so familiar, but i just answer his question. then i realize that he is the guy that does the weather on the news channel that we watch everyday! a.j. burnett!!!! so i casually ask “you’re on the news, right?”  he says “yes”.   then he tells me that he gets makeup on his collars and that’s why he’s looking for the dry cleaners.

i realize that i am probably the only one that thinks this was cool…..what can i say…..i just love the weather and seeing the weather guy was just funny :) in fact it kind of made my day.

We met Vickie Howell

Filed under: Uncategorized, events — Clark Cable @ 9:10 pm

Saturday was a great day. We went to Porter Square Books to meet Vickie Howell from Knitty Gritty (among other things.) She was there to talk about her new book, new yarn and various other projects (she’s really busy.)

More pictures are on our flickr page. Vickie passed around projects made from her new yarns: Craft, Rock & Love. They were all really great and we are planning on picking some up as soon as possible.

She autographed a copy of her book, “Not Another Teen Knitting Book,” which even though both of us are well past our teenage years still has some really cool projects. Now we must do our best to make sure Roo doesn’t eat it, as she’s taken to chewing on the corners of every book we leave out.
Vickie was really nice in person and we chatted for a little bit before running off to Zuma Grill where Kate had her favorite mexican dish ever, the potato quesadilla. Yum.
